Since entering Home Now, our first family has made great strides towards getting back on their feet!
Before entering Home Now, the family of 4 had spent over 6 months apart, with the kids staying with extended family, and Mom and Dad living out of their car. 16 months ago they were forced to move and after soon losing employment, they could not afford to move into new housing. Since entering the program only 2 weeks ago, the family has already been able to acquire food stamps, TANF, and OHP for all 4 member and just last Wednesday, Dad started working with a local construction company.
The facilities at Home Now are furnished thanks to the many generous individuals and businesses of the community, though we are always looking for more donations. Here are some of the items still needed:
- 3 Floor lamps
- 3 Side, end tables
- 4 Storage tubs/lids or chests
- 6 Twin sheet sets
- 2 Twin mattress pads
- 1 Boy bike age 12
- 1 Pop up baby crib
- 1 Dishes for 12
- Build Shelves in the closet
- 2 Two bulletin boards
