On behalf of hungry children and families on the South Coast, I want to thank our community partners and the public for supporting Hunger Action Month activities and fundraisers. Highlights included “Eat Drink Share,” the Bay Area Fun Fest Parade, and the “Rock for Food” benefit concert. The activities generated over $1,600 in funds, 200 pounds of food, and helped raise awareness about hunger issues on the South Coast. A big thanks to “Eat Drink Share” restaurants and owners, including Mama Mias, Porta, La Costa, and Momijis. Also, kudos to the volunteers who represented South Coast Food in the Bay Area Fun Fest parade, and to Walt's Pourhouse and Hookah Stew who presented Rock for Food. Hunger Action Month activities successfully helped ensure everyone on the South Coast has enough to eat.
Sincerely, Rollie Lobsinger Director of South Coast Food Share Oregon Coast Community Action

Hunger Action Month Activities:
South Coast Food Share organized a plethora of activities organized for Hunger Action Month. Highlights included a fundraiser with local restaurants called “Eat Drink Share, the Bay Area Fun Fest Parade, and the “Rock for Food” benefit concert. The activities generated over $1,600 in funds, and helped raise awareness about hunger issues on the South Coast.
Local restaurants teamed up with the South Coast Food Share for the “Eat Drink Share” benefit for Hunger Action Month. Diners ate at participating restaurants on select dates in September, and a portion of the meal proceeds went to supporting hunger relief for children and families on the South Coast. It was a great way to have a fun night out and support food security for the community. Restaurants included Mama Mias, Porta, La Costa, and Momijis. “This is an event where everyone wins”, commented Rollie Lobsinger, Director of South Coast Food Share “It’s a great model for partnership that stimulates the local economy, and promotes philanthropy.”
