Community Action Connect: An Opportunity for Neighbors to Help Their Neighbors!
A single father needs clothing for his daughter. She has outgrown her clothes and there is little money to buy new and used clothing. This little girl is in need of tops, pants, shorts and underwear. She wears a size 6. If you have girl clothing in this size and would like to donate them to help fill this need, please call Jen at 888-7188.
ORCCA's Energy and Weatherization Services have taken the next step after receiving grant funding to place solar hot water heaters in two customer's homes!
South Coast Hunger Awareness Week is coming up on July 4-11 throughout Curry, Coos and Western Douglas counties, in recognition of the ongoing issues of hunger and food insecurity in our region. The week will include a variety of activities that will educate and raise the community's awareness of hunger. Many activities will take place on the Family Fun Day July 4 at Mingus Park from 9:00am-3:00pm. Volunteers are needed to help with this event. Please call Jen at 888-7188 if you would like to volunteer!
Beginning July 4, the Bay Area community will have an opportunity to participate in the second annual Dinner & A Movie- fundraising event dedicated to helping fee hungry families in Coos & Curry Counties. This weeklong fundraising will feature 12 restaurants and include a showing of the movie Pat It Forward at the Egyptian Theatre on Friday, July 10th. The entire community can participate simply be eating at one of the 12 participating restaurants! A percentage of every plate ordered will go toward making sure no child or struggling family will fight hunger alone. Participating Restaurants:
